Explorer
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Explorer has arisen from Rolex's involvement in exploration journeys. These watches have helped explorers in exploring unexplored areas. Thanks to Rolex's years of experience in the watch industry, the Explorer watches are equipped with unmatched strength and reliability, which was often the only certainty for explorers during extreme survival expeditions.
Rolex tested the watches during Himalaya expeditions starting in 1930 to ensure that they continued to function perfectly, even at temperatures of -50 degrees Celsius and 70% less oxygen than at sea level. These watches did not yet carry the name Explorer at the time, but they were the foundation for the design of this model watch.
