Privacy Policy
LifeTime Watches attaches great importance to your privacy. Therefore, we only process data that we need for (improving) our services and handle sensitive information, such as personal data, with care. LifeTime Watches never makes data available to third parties for commercial purposes.
This privacy policy applies to the use of the website and the services provided via the website of LifeTime Watches. The effective date for these terms is 05/05/2021; with the publication of a new version, all previous versions become invalid. This privacy policy describes what data is collected about you by us, how this data is used, and with whom and under what conditions this data may be shared with third parties. We also explain how we store data, how we protect it against misuse, and what rights you have regarding the personal data you provide.
If you have any questions about our privacy policy, you can contact LifeTime Watches regarding privacy matters. You can find the contact details at the end of our privacy policy.
Data Processing
Below you can read how we process your data, where we (have it) stored, which security techniques we use, and who has access to the data.
Webshop software
Our webshop is developed using Shopify software. Personal data that you provide to us for our services is shared with this party. Shopify has access to your data to provide us with (technical) support, and they will never use the data for any other purpose. Based on the agreement we have with them, Shopify is obliged to take appropriate security measures. These security measures include the use of SSL encryption and a strong password policy. Shopify is a certified processor of credit card data. Shopify uses cookies to collect technical information regarding the use of the software; no personal data is collected and/or stored. Shopify reserves the right to share collected data within its own group to further improve the service. Shopify complies with the applicable legal retention periods for (personal) data. The EU/US Privacy Shield applies, and your data may be processed in the United States.
Web Hosting
We use web hosting and email services from Shopify. Shopify processes personal data on our behalf and does not use your data for its own purposes. However, this party may collect metadata about the use of the services. These are not personal data. Shopify has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent the loss and unauthorized use of your personal data. Shopify is obliged to confidentiality under the agreement.
Email and Mailing Lists
Our website uses Klaviyo, a third party that handles the email traffic from our website and the sending of any newsletters. All confirmation emails you receive from our website and web forms are sent via Klaviyo's servers. Klaviyo will never use your name and email address for its own purposes. At the bottom of every email sent automatically via our website, you will see the 'unsubscribe' link. If you click on this link, you will no longer receive emails from our website. This may severely limit the functionality of our website! Your personal data is securely stored by Klaviyo. Klaviyo uses cookies and other internet technologies that provide insight into whether emails are opened and read. Klaviyo reserves the right to use your data to further improve its services and, in that context, share information with third parties.
For our regular business email traffic, we use the services of Gmail. This party has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent misuse, loss, and corruption of your and our data as much as possible. Gmail has no access to our inbox, and we handle all our email traffic confidentially.
Payment Processors
To handle (part of) the payments in our webshop, we use the platform of Mollie. Mollie processes your name, address, and residence details, as well as your payment details, such as your bank account or credit card number. Mollie has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. Mollie reserves the right to use your data to further improve its services and, in that context, share (anonymized) data with third parties. All the guarantees mentioned above concerning the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of Mollie's services for which they engage third parties. Mollie does not retain your data longer than legally permitted.
To handle (part of) the payments in our webshop, we use the platform of Klarna. Klarna processes your name, address, and residence details, as well as your payment details, such as your bank account or credit card number. Klarna has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. Klarna reserves the right to use your data to further improve its services and, in that context, share (anonymized) data with third parties. Klarna shares personal data and information about your financial position with credit rating agencies in the case of an application for deferred payment (credit facility). All the guarantees mentioned above concerning the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of Klarna's services for which they engage third parties. Klarna does not retain your data longer than legally permitted.
Shipping and Logistics
When you place an order with us, it is our responsibility to deliver your package to you. We do not use courier services and deliver all watches ourselves and personally.
Invoicing and Accounting
To maintain our administration and accounting, we use the services of Cijfermeester. We share your name, address, and residence details, as well as information regarding your order. This data is used for the administration of sales invoices. Your personal data is transmitted and stored securely. Cijfermeester is obliged to confidentiality and will treat your data confidentially. Cijfermeester will not use your personal data for any purposes other than those described above.
Purpose of Data Processing
We use your data solely in the context of our services. This means that the purpose of the processing is always directly related to the order you place. We do not use your data for (targeted) marketing. If you share your data with us and we use this data to contact you later—other than at your request—we will explicitly ask for your consent. Your data is not shared with third parties, other than to fulfill accounting and other administrative obligations. These third parties are all bound to confidentiality based on the agreement between them and us, or an oath or legal obligation. Automatically collected data via our website is processed to further improve our services. This data (such as IP address, web browser, and operating system) is not personal data.
Cooperation in Fiscal and Criminal Investigations
In certain cases, LifeTime Watches may be required by law to share your data in connection with government-led fiscal or criminal investigations. In such a case, we are forced to share your data, but we will resist within the limits of the law.
Retention Periods
We keep your data for as long as you are a client of ours. This means we retain your client profile until you indicate that you no longer wish to use our services. If you notify us of this, we will interpret it as a request to be forgotten. Due to applicable administrative obligations, we are required to retain invoices containing your (personal) data, and we will store this data for the applicable period. However, employees will no longer have access to your client profile or the documents we have created as a result of your order.
Your Rights
Under applicable Dutch and European law, you have certain rights regarding the personal data that is processed by or on behalf of us. Below we explain what these rights are and how you can exercise them. In principle, to prevent misuse, we send copies and transcripts of your data only to the email address that you have provided to us. If you wish to receive the data at another email address or, for example, by post, we will ask you to provide identification. We maintain a log of processed requests; in the case of a request to be forgotten, we will keep anonymized data. All copies and transcripts of data will be provided in a machine-readable format used within our systems. You always have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority if you suspect that we are misusing your personal data.
Right of Access
You always have the right to access the data that we process or have processed, which relates to you or can be traced back to you as a person. You can submit a request to that effect to our contact person for privacy matters. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send a copy of all data to the email address known to us, along with a list of the processors who have access to this data, stating the category under which we have stored this data.
Right of Rectification
You always have the right to have the data we process or have processed, which relates to you or can be traced back to you, corrected. You can submit a request to that effect to our contact person for privacy matters. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send a confirmation to the email address known to us, confirming that the data has been corrected.
Right to Restrict Processing
You always have the right to restrict the processing of data that we process or have processed, which relates to you or can be traced back to you. You can submit a request to that effect to our contact person for privacy matters. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send a confirmation to the email address known to us, stating that the restriction has been implemented and the data will no longer be processed.
Right to Data Portability
You always have the right to have the data that we process or have processed, which relates to you or can be traced back to you, transferred to another party. You can submit a request to that effect to our contact person for privacy matters. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send copies or transcripts of all data we have processed, or that has been processed by other processors or third parties on our behalf, to the email address known to us. It is likely that we will no longer be able to continue our services in such a case, as the secure linkage of data files can no longer be guaranteed.
Right to Object and Other Rights
In certain cases, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by or on behalf of LifeTime Watches. If you object, we will immediately cease data processing while we await the outcome of your objection. If your objection is justified, we will provide copies and/or transcripts of the data that we process (or have processed) and then permanently cease the processing. You also have the right not to be subject to automated individual decision-making or profiling. We do not process your data in such a way that this right applies. If you believe that this is the case, please contact our privacy contact person.

Changes to the Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to change our privacy policy at any time. However, you will always find the most recent version on this page. If the new privacy policy has consequences for the way we process data already collected concerning you, we will inform you of this by email.
