The Milgauss was designed specifically for those who worked in power plants, medical facilities, and research laboratories. Before Rolex released the Milgauss, scientists and other similar professionals had a serious problem; an electromagnetic field of more than 50 to 100 gauss would severely disrupt the timing of a watch. Therefore, they faced either an inaccurate watch or no watch at all.
