Audermars Piguet Royal Oak
In 1875, in Le Brassus, Switzerland, Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet decided to join forces and founded Audemars Piguet, a watch brand that has since been synonymous with innovation and craftsmanship. Driven by a passion for advanced watchmaking, they began creating complex timepieces such as chronographs and repeater watches.
The biggest milestone came in 1972 with the introduction of the Royal Oak. Designed by the legendary watchmaker Gérald Genta, this watch broke conventions by using stainless steel for a luxury sports watch. The unique design, with its octagonal bezel and visible screws, and the integrated bracelet, made a lasting impression on the watch world. This bold move set a new standard and created an iconic model that remains immensely popular to this day.
